Welcome to origami parrot. I have wanted to create a digital scrapbook of sorts for quite a while now, and after much deliberation (and inspiration from the countless kind words of Emily) here we are. I will provide a short writeup on my goals of this site and what you can expect to find here. I’m sure there will be things you will not be expecting to find too, is that not the whole point though?
The name “origami parrot” is inspired directly from many many years of making origami parrots, all the way back to my elementary school days. While I did not realize it then, this was my first experience with art that is transformative at it’s very core; a flat sheet of paper turned into something completely brand new. The concept of transformation is very important to me and is what I hope to instill into all the shapes and forms you find across this site. To put it simply, transformation by taking raw ingredients in different topics, (coffee, cocktails, food, digital and film photography, and music to name a few), and turning them into something new.
My friends and family have always been my greatest support; they have always and will always be integral to this journey, interwoven into everything I do. I do not find inspiration without the beautiful community around me.
I am so excited for all the future holds, and I hope you come along with me.
